Our story
At Pastel Bicycles, we believe that a great bike should be as unique as the rider. What began as a shared vision between two passionate cyclists has evolved into a growing company with a team dedicated to creating bikes that inspire and perform.
Why Did We Start Pastel Bicycles?
We started Pastel Bicycles out of frustration with an industry that often pushes products we don’t need. We couldn’t find the right bike at a fair price with the custom features we wanted.
Take color options, for example. You find the right color but then it’s paired with components that don’t suit your needs. Why can't you pick the color you love and choose the components that fit your ride?
The industry is full of gimmicks that complicate things: heavy, stiff frames, integrated cable routing that’s hard to service, and manufacturer-specific parts that limit your choices. While we now offer integrated cable routing to meet market demand, we've kept it user-friendly and simple to maintain.
We set out to create bikes that are truly customizable, easy to maintain, and built for the rider — not the industry.
The Founders
Pastel Bicycles was founded three years ago by Seb and Martin, two riders with very different approaches to cycling:
- Seb, an adventurer, thrives on off-road trails, steep climbs, and exploring uncharted paths. His focus on wide tires and easy gearing ensures versatility and capability for any challenge.
- Martin, a speed enthusiast, loves the thrill of fast rides on both roads and trails. Lightweight frames and optimized tire profiles are essential to his pursuit of speed and efficiency.
Despite their contrasting styles, Seb and Martin shared a vision: to build bikes that could seamlessly adapt to a rider’s unique needs.
The Bikes
This vision came to life with the WHTIF 2.0, our gravel bike now in its second iteration. Lighter, better handling, and with refined aesthetics, it remains a go-to for riders who want the freedom to explore diverse terrains.
Building on this success, we’re proud to introduce CIMA, our lightweight road bike. Produced in Portugal, this model benefits from exceptional craftsmanship, allowing us to fine-tune ride characteristics, ensure quality, and reduce CO2 emissions.
Built with Care
With our growth over the past three years, Pastel Bicycles has transformed into a company that blends creativity with professional expertise. Backed by a skilled team, we’ve refined our manufacturing and assembly processes to deliver bikes that meet the highest standards of performance, durability, and design. Every Pastel bike is thoughtfully assembled in Salzburg, ensuring close attention to detail and quality at every stage.
Why Pastel Bicycles?
- Personalized for You: From custom colors to component options, we make it easy to build a bike that matches your style.
- Local and Sustainable: While all our bikes are thoughtfully designed, CIMA’s Portuguese production offers unparalleled quality and a smaller environmental footprint.
- A Unified Vision: Our small but dedicated team combines creative freedom with professional expertise to bring every rider a bike they can trust.
